ReedPop, the promoter behind events such as Emerald Coast Comic Con and New York Comic Con announced the hiring of Chris Arrant as editor-in-chief. Most recently, Arrant served as senior editor at Gamesradar/NewsARama. ReedPop’s press release described Arrant’s duties:
As editor-in-chief, Arrant will take the lead on editorial projects across the ReedPop portfolio of events to create content and new digital experiences for fans at home. He is also leading the charge to establish their online presence as a global authority in pop culture and at ReedPop events.
Going beyond its in-person events to reach fans around the globe, ReedPop is committed to developing innovative digital offerings that leverage the extensive access to studios, publishers, developers, creators and on-screen talent that Reedpop enjoys worldwide.
ReedPop also describes Arrant’s role as editor-in-chief as helping “shape the development of their comic book content within their growing digital properties,” while at the same time “focusing on building new ways for fans to access and engage with the content they love.”
Since 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, ReedPop has been organizing many of its virtual events focused on comic books under the ‘MetaVerse’ banner.
